Last night I was eating dinner with some friends and the power suddenly went out. The music stopped, the lights shut off, and the restaurant went silent. Then we pulled out our iPhones and started eating. The power does shut off in Hawaii at least a couple times a year and can be out sometimes for days. This time lightning hit some transformers and the electric company decided to shut off the entire island. 12 hours later there are still people without power. I really enjoyed it personally but am very glad and thankful that power has been restored, at least for me.
