Kodak Junior Pocket Camera No. 1

I finally got around to getting some film developed and scanned, I’m pretty excited because one of the cameras I used is almost a 100 years old. The Kodak Junior pocket camera No. 1, here’s a photo:

I modified a roll of black and white 120 film to fit into the huge 616 back. It’s not very hard to do unlike the kodak duaflex which take 220. The negatives are so big that on a normal 120 roll I can take 4 photographs. I’m somewhat happy that the images came out, they’re not particularly amazing photographs, I was pretty excited just to use it so I shot pretty much whatever. For some reason though only two shots came out. I think I accidentally exposed part of the roll. Next time I’ll have to remove the film in a darkroom bag. Also, with the film not filling the entire backing and the eye piece not through the lens, it’s all sort of a guess when it comes to how to compose the frame, so this camera will probably be used just for landscapes and not portraits until I can get the hang of it.

I took these two shots at a local pumpkin patch just before halloween.

Here my friend Jason McCaffery picks out squashes.
